How to Start Changing Someone's Point of View

We are always told not to make hasty decisions but always put ourselves in others' shoes and come to understand their point of view and talk accordingly. The modern question now arises: Is it at all possible to change someone's point of view? Read on to find out.

Here are a few schemes:
1) Give examples from real life
For instance, your spouse is heavily addicted to drinking beverages. You know someone who is hospitalized and in a critical condition for having too much of drinks per day. You take your hubby coaxingly to the hospital and give him an example of what you have been saying about his addiction. Most probably your hubby's mind will shift and he will start to take the required measures.
If he is not convinced already, take him to an alcoholic healing center and show him how people there, having been addicted to drinking, are having a hard time to recuperate. Gradually he will reduce his beverages intake and become a healthy and spirited human being.
2) Be an example yourself
Many people have the notion that girls are less than boys. While girls are naturally weaker in strength, they have the heart of a king. They can do anything they put their mind to and lead others by example. Why don't you be an example and show your fellow mates what quality, talent and caliber you possess? Express these openly to some extent so that the overall impression they have of you shifts to some extent as well.

3) Provide Evidence
You are a quiet and shy person. But you score high grades in class. Naturally classmates who thought you were lousy and lunatic flock around you to get some valuable tips. You are suddenly in the spotlight just because you gave your class some living proof of your virtues. As a result, your classmates realize that their initial thoughts about you were wrong.
4) Mix and spend a lot of time in it
You have a crush on somebody but you are unable to convince him to go on a date. He is kind of a nerd but you badly want to be friends with him. Give him small gifts and flowers. Cut jokes with him and prove to him you are a good company for him and that you are great for him. Don't try your luck too hard nor push him forcibly into action. Go slow and he will be convinced.
These are some the great ways to gradually start changing someone's perspective and, on the contrary, to start making the other person idolize you, thinking the world about you and agreeing with your opinions earnestly. It is only a matter of a little mind shift that you need to initiate in the other person(s) and you will bounce in joy when everything turns successfully your way.

I Ended Up Getting Defensive

Whilst I was helping a friend to move house a number of years ago, I ended up meeting someone there who was into self-development. It didn't take long for me to see that we had a lot in common.
Not only this, he also worked as a photographer and made videos. I thought that everything was falling into place and that it would only be a matter of time before we were making videos and documentaries together.

Another Reason
However, while I had everything worked out in my mind and believed that we had been brought together to create videos, I soon found out that this wasn't the case. In reality, I had come into contact with someone who would teach me a hell of a lot.
When I look back on this time in my life, it was as though I had all this energy but it wasn't being used in the right way. I would say that the person I had met, on the other hand, had been around the block a few times, so to speak, and had his feet firmly on the ground.
A Human Doing
At this stage in my life, I was focused on doing things and trying to go further with my writing career. This was just part of it, though; the other part was that I would often feel angry and frustrated with how things were going.
It was then similar to having a lot of fire power, but not being able to hit any of the targets that had been pinpointed. Still, I did what I could to not get caught up in these moments in my life and to keep going.

A Different Approach
This person wasn't extremely motivated, which meant that he wasn't tearing around trying to achieve things. I found it hard to understand what was going on, and I couldn't work out why he wasn't more motivated.
I would often ask him if he felt the need to achieve certain things and, when he said that he didn't, I thought it was strange. But while I thought this was strange, he probably thought that it was strange that I needed to achieve so much.
The Big Question
During the moments when we would get together, he would often ask me why I wanted to do something and what I was looking to receive after I had experienced something. When he first started asking me this, I felt as though I was being judged.
I thought that he was asking me this because he was against what I wanted to achieve and the experiences that I was having. As far as I was concerned, I was on the right track so there was no need for me to change my approach.
A Seed Had Been Planted
Yet even though I felt uncomfortable when he asked me this, I did my best to answer the question. After our time together had come to an end, I would think about what he said but I would soon think about other things.
What had stopped me from being able to change my behaviour was that I felt worthless - I had to achieve things to feel good about myself. Along with this, I had been spending time with people who were just as driven as I was.

Trapped
If I had listened to my feelings and ignored what he said, I wouldn't have been able to reflect on what he said. I would have believed that he was trying to hold me back and I might even have pulled away.
However, while this would have stopped me from feeling uncomfortable, it wouldn't have allowed me to grow. I would then have done everything I could to "kill the messenger" and I probably would have suffered as time went by.
A New Beginning
Instead of gradually being able to settle down and to realise my value, I might still be tearing around trying to achieve things and getting angry and frustrated in the process. Also, he wasn't asking me these questions to undermine me; he was asking them to find out if I was aware of why I was doing something or had done something.
What this makes me think about is how our feelings are not always right, and if we always allow them to define our behaviour it will set us up to suffer. Being able to step back and to observe out inner processes is vital.
The Messenger
If we had made more films and these conversations didn't take place, I might still be doing the same things. Therefore, although I believed that I needed new videos at this stage in my life, what I actually needed was a new outlook.
This is one of the reasons why I am grateful that I came into contact with Wain Gordon.

The Grass Is Never Greener On The Other Side

It can be so easy to observe what you truly want in other people. You see that ugly guy who has the hot girl! But.. You want that hot girl! You see people driving around town in super cool cars! But, you want a super cool car! You see old folks with spectacular houses! But, you want a spectacular house too! You'll hear stories about people winning the lottery. But, you've played a ticket, and plenty of them too! That winning ticket was supposed to be yours! You see the woman with the beautiful plump breasts. But, you deserve to have those beautiful plump breasts. You see the guy with the huge, stunning, muscular physique. But, you've been eating the right things, working out hard, sweating like a dam dog, so shouldn't you be the one with the big buff body? On and on, this type of 'greener grass' thinking can go.

It is so important that you understand the defeating nature of the state of not being happy with what you have. I caution you against this type of inferior thinking. ONE MILLION won't make you happy, because you're gonna need TWO MILLION to be satisfied!!! And by the time 2 MILLION comes rolling around, that still won't satisfy you, because it's gonna take 4 MILLION!
A hot slice of gourmet pizza can't possibly please you, because you're gonna need the whole pie!!! But even the whole entire pie won't be worth dung to you, because it's gonna need extra cheese, and extra sauce, and it will even probably need a lighter crust!
Being single doesn't please you, because you want an attractive person to court. But... A hot, sexy, attractive partner won't please you either, because you're gonna want a spouse.
But, a spouse still won't please you either, because now you feel suffocated and trapped! You now need the freedom to roam freely and to see other people!
Do you understand where I'm going with this? Do you see how a state of discontentment can rob you of your joy?
Understand that you have the very best that you can ever have in the moment. Don't be fooled into thinking anything otherwise. Because the grass is never greener on the other side. Therefore, stay in your own yard, and tend to the grass that is beneath your own feet!

If you don't have grass beneath your feet, then make up your mind to grow some! This is the superior mindset you must entertain if you are truly going to be content with what it is that you already have!
Be grateful for what you already have. Find appreciation for your current conditions and circumstances. If you do this, you will attract even better conditions and circumstances! It's a guarantee!
If you want more! If you want better! If you desire greater! If you want a whole lot! Plus, if you want peace, and you want joy, and you want an overflow of abundances, then all you must do is be genuinely grateful for what you already have!
Because it's the state of gratitude that powerfully draws goodness to you! Great people! Good amounts of money, both very small and very large! Divine opportunities! Great breaks! Supernatural healings! Profound helping hands! Emotional reliefs and boosts! And all that you desire will literally begin to flow into your life if you would decide to simply be grateful and thankful for what you already have.
If you don't have anything at all to be grateful for, then you should be grateful for having nothing!
And, as soon as you become grateful for having nothing, then guess what? You'll have something to be grateful for now! And, from this point forward, you will begin to attract even more things to be grateful for!
No one has it better than you. You have the best that you can possibly have in the moment. When it's time for you to have better, you will have better. When it's time for you to have more, then you will have more.
The grass is the most greenest on your side of the fence! So mind your own business and tend to your own grass, because the grass is not greener on the other side. It never was, not is now, nor will it ever be! The color, the texture, and the quality of all grass is directly determined by the person who tends to the grass. That means, you truly do have the best possible grass that you will ever be able to keep and have. Respect that.

A Healthier Attitude In Stressful Times

As human beings, we are continually faced with challenges, difficulties and temporary setbacks. They are an unavoidable aspect of being human. By learning how to manage stress and respond with a positive attitude to each challenge, we'll grow as a person and start moving forward in life. In fact, without those setbacks, we could not learn what you need to know and develop the qualities to where we are today.

It is natural to us to react emotionally when our expectations are frustrated in any way. When something we wanted and hoped for fails to materialize, we feel a temporary sense of disappointment and unhappiness.

The optimistic person, however, knows how to manage stress in difficult situations and soon moves beyond this disappointment. Responding quickly to the adverse event and interprets it as being temporary, the optimist responds with a positive attitude, knows how to manage stress and counter the negative feelings by immediately reframing the event to turn into a positive one. Whenever you have a difficulty, immediately reframe it, choose to view it as a challenge, and start moving forward. Challenge is inherently positive. It is something that makes you stronger and better.

The best way to maintain a positive attitude and manage stress is to turn it into an opportunity. When you are faced with a difficulty of any kind, faced with an unexpected opportunity. Neutralize any negative thoughts or emotions by speaking to yourself positively all the time.

You must learn to manage stress and survive above the difficulties in order to be a better person. Welcome each difficulty and then look into the situation to find the good in it. Start moving forward in life by keeping your thoughts on your goals, dreams, and on the person, you are working toward becoming. When things go wrong temporarily, resolve to maintain a positive attitude, be cheerful, and resist every temptation toward negativity and disappointment. View disappointment as an opportunity to grow stronger and wiser.

It's very easy to be dragged down by the stress and pressure of everyday life. Once you feel really down, it's even easier to stay there, beaten and tired, muddling from day-to-day. The choice to live your life with a more positive attitude is always the right choice. But it is a choice that will take work and time.

Focus on what you do have rather than what you could have, you can decrease the amount of time you spend wishing and increase the time you spend appreciating the things that are happening in your life. But sometimes, this can lead to the things in life becoming mundane and harder to appreciate. Shaking up this pattern should help you to break up the routine and see your life in a new light.

As human beings, stress is a part of life. It is inevitable. What's important is how we respond to those challenges in a different perspective.
